STEVEN L. SHORES
President & CEO
Since co-founding Pollack Shores in 2006, Steven Shores has played a key role in building the leading regional multifamily company after assembling a team with a deep understanding of acquisitions, developments, investments and property management. Under his leadership, Pollack Shores has invested in, acquired and developed over 14,500 units representing in excess of $2 billion of total capitalization in Sun Belt cities. Steven has led several landmark projects, including the development of Home at the Battery at SunTrust Park; the turnaround of Audubon Village, a waterfront project in Tampa; and Steelworks, the walkable, luxury residences at Atlantic Station. In 2016, the Atlanta-based firm opened an office in Dallas to expand its reach across the Southwest.
As CEO of Pollack Shores, Steven oversees the firm’s day-to-day business activities while focusing on developing strategy, executing the business plan, securing new business, negotiating partnerships and capitalizing projects. He places a strong emphasis on team development, company culture and process to ensure the firm meets the goals of its investors, clients, partners and employees. In 2015, the National Association of Home Builders awarded Pollack Shores the prestigious title of Development Firm of the Year.
Steven holds a MBA in Finance and Real Estate from Columbia University Business School and a Bachelor’s degree from Davidson College. He is a member of the Multifamily Bronze Council of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and serves on the Board of Directors of the National Multi Housing Council (NMHC). Steven lives in Atlanta with his three children and enjoys golf, skiing and cycling.
MARC S. POLLACK
As the Chairman of Pollack Shores, Marc Pollack ensures the firm’s operations remain true to its process-oriented approach grounded in disciplined teamwork, seasoned experience and innovative services. Since the firm’s founding in 2006, Marc has helped grow Pollack Shores into a multi-faceted organization that specializes in acquisitions, development and property management across 11 southeastern and mid-Atlantic states.
Over the past 12 years, Marc has led Pollack Shores to be a part in the development of several award-winning mixed-use projects and high-profile luxury apartment communities. In 2015, Marc’s leadership helped secure a groundbreaking deal with the Atlanta Braves baseball franchise, as Pollack Shores was chosen to build the residential component of the team’s dynamic new mixed-use community known as “The Battery Atlanta” next to SunTrust Park. Pollack Shores developed three luxury apartment communities totaling 531 multifamily units in partnership with the Braves, creating a new model of collaboration between professional sports team and multifamily developer.
In his role, Marc focuses on strategic initiatives and deal generation. As an expert in the commercial real estate industry, Marc has spoken at various conferences and events, including Interface Multifamily Southeast, Bisnow and other industry sponsors. Marc has more than 35 years of experience in the multifamily real estate business, and has been responsible for the development, acquisition, disposition and management of more than 30,000 housing units valued at more than $3 billion.
Marc holds a Master’s degree from Georgia State University and a Bachelor’s degree from Emory University. A leader in the real estate industry, he serves on numerous associations and committees including the Urban Land Institute (ULI), the National Association of Realtors, the Atlanta Board of Realtors and the National Multi Housing Council (NMHC). He also serves on the advisory board of Mary Hall Freedom House, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for women, the advisory board of the Atlanta Neighborhood Development Partnership, and is Chairman of the Board of the Partners for Home, the administrative arm of the Atlanta Continuum of Care for Homelessness. Marc was a real estate instructor in the Goizueta School of Business at Emory University for many years. An Atlantan for more than four decades, Marc enjoys spending time with his family in New Orleans, and with his “better half” – wife Robin. His other passions are cooking, travel and music.
Chief Operating Officer
Michael Blair joined the Pollack Shores team when the company was founded in 2006. Michael served as Managing Director of Development before transitioning to his current position as Chief Operating Officer in 2017. Michael’s focus is centered on the organization, communication, operational performance and efficiency of the firm, as well as improving processes for planning and execution among all divisions of the company. Since his arrival at Pollack Shores, Michael has helped to successfully grow the development team into a highly proficient unit of 20 development and construction professionals. Under his leadership, the development team executed 28 new projects totaling 9,000 residential units and counting.
Michael’s extensive leadership and project management experience have proven to be valuable assets for Pollack Shores. He forged strong and productive relationships across the company through his previous role, and his prolific background in construction and design helps him oversee and offer valuable insight into the successful planning, execution and completion of each project the firm develops.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Science degree in Construction Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). A native Atlantan, Michael supports all of the local sports teams, especially the Braves and Falcons, and also coaches numerous youth sports. Michael enjoys playing tennis and spending time and traveling with his wife, Krissie, and children Ben, Will and Jane Brooks.
BRUCE SANDERS, CPA
Chief Financial Officer
Bruce Sanders is Chief Financial Officer at Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. Since his arrival in 2011, Bruce has been responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company, which include oversight of accounting, tax, risk management, HR and IT activities. Bruce is also actively involved in the company’s capital markets activities, including debt and equity sourcing and investor relations.
As a member of the Senior Management Committee, Bruce oversees the corporate financial planning functions, portfolio management and reporting to owners and investors. Since joining Pollack Shores, Bruce has played an integral role in the development and acquisition of over 60 projects representing more than 18,000 units and almost $3 billion in real estate value.
With more than 20 years in the accounting, real estate, and construction industries, Bruce brings a wealth of senior financial management experience to Pollack Shores. He began his career in public accounting, and obtained his CPA designation before pursuing a career in commercial real estate. His experience initially focused on accounting, reporting, finance and asset management for a large mixed-use redevelopment. Bruce later joined a diversified real investment firm as Director of Finance where he helped create and oversee the accounting and finance department from inception to stabilization. Prior to joining Pollack Shores, Bruce served as Chief Financial Officer of a local family-owned diversified real estate company.
Bruce graduated with a Bachelor’s of Accounting Science from the University of South Africa. He has also been active in many professional and real estate organizations including AICPA, ULI, NAIOP, REIAC and NMHC.
Bruce was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, and now lives in Atlanta with his wife, Kim, and two kids, Emersyn and Rex. He has been an Atlanta resident since 1997.
Managing Director of Development
Brian Oates is Managing Director of Development at Pollack Shores Real Estate Group, and leads all of the firm’s new development projects. His duties include managing the division’s construction and development teams from the pre-construction phase through lease-up of completed projects. Previously, Brian was a Project Developer at Pollack Shores, where he completed over 2,000 units at a cost of more than $400 million. Today, as the development team’s leader, Brian now manages active projects of more than 3,500 units that total more than $1.5 billion in value.
Before joining Pollack Shores, Brian led project teams at a gas and oil company in the acquisition, entitlement and development of new convenience and gas locations in Georgia and Florida. He also has over eight years of experience underwriting and developing residential communities across the Southeast with other development firms.
Brian earned a bachelor’s of science in management from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a concentration in finance and land development. An active member of ULI Atlanta, Brian graduated from its Center for Leadership program in 2018. Brian enjoys following local Atlanta sports teams, playing and coaching soccer and spending time with his son, Samuel.
Human Resources Director
Krista Messic is the Human Resources Director for Pollack Shores Real Estate Group and its property management subsidiary, Matrix Residential. She is responsible for the company’s human resources administration, employee relations, risk management, policy development and documentation, payroll and organizational development. Krista joined Pollack Shores Real Estate Group in September 2008 with 16 years of experience in the multifamily industry.
Krista helped launch Matrix Residential in 2010, and played a vital role in onboarding staff and implementing new policies and programs.
Prior to joining Pollack Shores, Krista was a human resources director for an Atlanta-based property developer, and was responsible for all aspects of human resources for the company and its three subsidiaries. Krista also has experience as a commercial property manager, and began her career as a quality assurance administrator for an international environmental laboratory.
Krista attended Oral Roberts University in Oklahoma and Kennesaw State University in Georgia. She is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and SHRM-Atlanta. In her spare time, Krista enjoys tennis, cooking, reading, and theatre. She resides in Marietta with her husband and two daughters.
Executive Assistant and Office Manager
As the Executive Assistant and Office Manager, Heather Peppers works directly for Marc Pollack and Steven Shores while supporting the corporate office. Her responsibilities include managing Steven and Marc’s calendars, booking travel, planning company trips and corporate events.
Heather graduated from the University of North Georgia with a degree in biology. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and exploring the city.
DIRECTOR, DENVER and Phoenix
Kim Sperry is Managing Director for Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. In her role, Sperry identifies development, acquisition and third-party property management opportunities for the firm in both markets. A decorated real estate veteran, Kim’s extensive track record includes oversight of major acquisition and new development opportunities, joint venture structuring, asset management and disposition of multifamily, industrial, hotel and office properties.
Sperry has sourced and managed new investments totaling over $1.2 billion in a variety of markets across the U.S. over the course of her 20-year career, and was instrumental in the successful development and sourcing of high-profile projects such as 2785 Speer apartments, Verve apartments and The Coloradan, downtown Denver’s first high-rise condominium project built in the current cycle.
Kim serves on the ULI Silver Multifamily Product Council, is co-chair of the Colorado Multifamily Product Council, and serves on the International Advisory Board for the University of Colorado Real Estate Center. She is also a member of National Multifamily Housing Council and the Downtown Denver Partnership.
Kim graduated from the University of Colorado with a bachelor’s degree in finance and graduated with honors from the University of Denver with a master’s degree in real estate and construction management. She also holds the CCIM designation, and has volunteered at area schools and with the Colorado Children’s Campaign.
Managing Director, Southwest
As Managing Director of the Southwest region office at Pollack Shores Real Estate Group, Nick is responsible for the firm’s development and operations in major markets such as Dallas, Houston and Austin. He focuses on identifying new opportunities and leading the oversight and execution of development projects throughout the region.
Nick has over 16 years of real estate experience and has spent time in development, acquisitions, and structured finance. As Development Director for one of the nation’s largest multifamily developers, Nick oversaw all aspects of real estate development for more than 4,000 multifamily units in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He also has a deep knowledge and understanding of investment and capital markets after working for some of the nation’s largest financial institutions.
Nick has a BA from the University of Notre Dame and is involved in ULI and The Real Estate Council of Dallas. Nick enjoys golfing, traveling, and spending time with his family.
Director of Central Florida
As Partner and Director of Central Florida at Pollack Shores Real Estate Group, Anthony Everett oversees the firm’s development and operations in the Central Florida region. His duties include identifying new opportunities, strategic planning and the oversight and execution of target goals to achieve successful outcomes for the firm and its investors.
Since joining Pollack Shores in 2011, Anthony has overseen the development of more than 3,000 units in Central Florida. Noteworthy projects include Noho Flats, Havana Square and The Princeton at College Park, among others.
Anthony has been a leader in the multifamily industry in the Southeastern United States for more than 20 years. Prior to joining Pollack Shores, he directed the management, development, acquisition and disposition of approximately 30,000 multifamily units. He has extensive experience in both rental and for-sale properties. Anthony has completed seven condominium conversions, and successfully closed out projects prior to the significant declines that Anthony anticipated in the real estate markets. For more than 15 years, he also served as a special consultant for a real estate investment company where he completed the planning, development and construction of more than 3,200 multifamily units in Central Florida.
Anthony is a graduate of Emory University and the University of Florida. He is a fourth-generation resident of Tampa, where he resides with his wife and two children. Anthony also sits on several charitable boards including The Tampa General Hospital Foundation and The American Cancer Society. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, hunting, scuba diving, fishing and boating.
Vice President, Development
As the Vice President of Development for Pollack Shores, Ashley Casaday’s responsibilities include management and execution of project financing and front-end development activities. Ashley also acts as the point of contact during the disposition process, working closely with partners, brokers, and consultants to ensure the successful sale of new developments. In her time with Pollack Shores, she has managed the disposition of approximately $700 million in multifamily assets.
Prior to her current role, Ashley worked with Pollack Shores subsidiary, Matrix Residential, to lead efforts in due diligence, reporting, and management of the company’s portfolio. Ashley previously spent time with Winter Construction’s hospitality group, managing the estimating, scheduling, and execution of major projects.
Ashley graduated with highest honors from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Building Construction. She is actively involved in the community and enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and husband, Will.
Vice President, Development
Tyler is Vice President of Development at Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. Since arriving in 2013, he has successfully entitled, closed and developed several projects in major Southeastern markets such as Atlanta, Charlotte and Nashville.
Tyler leads land acquisition and development of projects in the Atlanta area. His broad portfolio includes the zoning, closing, development and sale of three Atlanta-area properties: The Local, a locally-inspired apartment community in West Midtown; developing Spectrum on Spring, a luxury community in Midtown; and The Bishop, which features top-tier apartment homes on the perimeter in Sandy Springs.
Tyler focuses on complex urban and mixed-use projects. He is the point of contact for the firm’s internal and external partners on all Atlanta deals and is in charge of the comprehensive development and execution for each project. Tyler’s responsibilities include overall project design, obtaining municipal approvals, managing projects costs and schedules, construction and delivery and lease-up of completed projects. Before joining the firm, Tyler worked in various areas of the development industry where he played an integral part in the redevelopment of multiple urban infill and adaptive reuse projects.
Tyler holds a civil engineering degree from Georgia Tech. He is actively involved in the community and enjoys spending time with his friends and family, his wife Whitney and their three children, Adley, Reed and Claire.
Vice President, Development
Palmer McArthur is Vice President of Development at Pollack Shores. Since his arrival in 2014, Palmer has closed six projects totaling 1,800 units. Palmer led the expansion of Pollack Shores into North Carolina and South Carolina and is responsible for sourcing all prospective deals in the region. Projects of note that Palmer has led include Millworks, in Midtown Atlanta; Republic Flats, in Durham, North Carolina; and The Dakota, in Raleigh, North Carolina. In January 2017, Palmer led the rezoning, brownfield agreement negotiation, underwriting, design, closing and entitlement of Penrose, a 350-unit upscale community in Charlotte, North Carolina.
In his role at Pollack Shores, Palmer is responsible for identifying and analyzing development opportunities in the Carolinas, raising debt and equity capital and managing project execution. Palmer oversees the development of midrise and garden multifamily projects, and manages multiple teams of architects, engineers, attorneys and contractors. As an expert and thought leader in the commercial real estate industry, Palmer has spoken at several conferences and industry forums. Palmer was previously an assistant vice president at an American international banking and financial services company, where he underwrote CMBS loans for the real estate capital markets group.
Palmer holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BSBA with distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was an active member of the real estate clubs at both institutions. Palmer is also a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI). Palmer lives in Atlanta with his wife, Brynn, and son, Wells, and enjoys golfing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends.
Manager of Interior Architecture & Design
Anna Chisholm is the Manager of Interior Architecture and Design for Pollack Shores, and has been an integral part of the development team since joining the firm in 2012. In her role, she manages the design and construction of new development projects across the Southeast. Anna’s responsibilities include overseeing the architectural design from site planning through construction documents, permitting, construction pricing and buy-out, monitoring construction schedules and budgets and turnover of completed projects to property management.
Prior to joining Pollack Shores, Anna served as development manager for a real estate investment company, where she successfully developed a wide variety of project types including apartments, condominiums, townhomes and single-family homes.
Anna graduated with high honors from Georgia Tech with degrees in architecture and construction management, as well as a certificate in city planning with concentration in land development. She enjoys the outdoors, traveling and spending time with her family.
Dennis Jordan joined the Pollack Shores team in 2018 as a Development Manager. Dennis is focused on identifying and underwriting new development opportunities for the company while also providing oversight on the design and construction of several development projects in metro Atlanta.
Prior to joining Pollack Shores, Dennis worked with an Atlanta-based development team where he helped manage and execute the company’s front-end development activities and coordinated project financing.
A native of Charleston, South Carolina, Dennis holds a bachelor’s degree from Southern Methodist University and a Master of Real Estate Development (MRED) graduate degree from Clemson University. He is also a designated LEED AP professional by the U.S. Green Building Council.
Dennis resides in Atlanta with his wife, Laura, and their two young daughters.
As part of the firm’s development team, Michael is responsible for the execution of multiple development projects in the Carolinas and Florida. He manages the design, financing, construction and lease-up of each project. Michael leads the development efforts for The Penrose (Charlotte), The Merchant (Charleston) and The Mason at Six Mile Creek (Indian Land, South Carolina). He also oversees the firm’s first two age-targeted developments in Florida.
Michael has extensive experience in construction and real estate. He has worked with teams to deliver George Washington University’s iconic Science & Engineering Hall in Foggy Bottom as well as an interiors project at the Department of State’s Harry S. Truman Building.
Michael received a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Notre Dame. He continues to be an active member of both institutions through leadership in the alumni associations. Michael is also a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI). Michael lives in Atlanta and enjoys running, skiing and spending time with family.
Bill Moyer is the Construction Manager at Pollack Shores Real Estate Group, and oversees all aspects of the firm’s new construction management, capital projects and renovations for a variety of multifamily developments across the Southeast. He works closely with all of Pollack Shores’ design partners to determine material and labor costs, review plans and blueprints and make sure each of the company’s projects meets the required timeline.
Before joining the Pollack Shores team in 2012, Bill owned his own construction firm and managed construction projects for a variety of multifamily companies. Bill has more than 40 years of experience in multifamily real estate, including new construction, redevelopment and renovations, parking deck construction and land development, project management and building inspections.
Bill lives in Marietta, Georgia with his wife, Jan, and enjoys golf, fishing and spending time with his family.
Alison joined the Pollack Shores team in 2018 as a Construction Manager, overseeing projects in the Greater Atlanta area. She is responsible for managing the design team and construction process as well as executing new development projects.
Alison has been in the construction industry for more than 10 years with experience in construction claims and preconstruction. She has completed projects in mining, higher education and international government. Alison graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in building construction.
Outside of work, Alison enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, baking, traveling and going to Georgia Tech football games.
Aaron Schoeneman is a Construction Manager for Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. Aaron manages the construction of new projects across the Southeast, and is responsible for supervising the design team and construction process.
Aaron previously worked as a project manager and estimator, and oversaw pre-con and construction of multiple educational, commercial and industrial projects across the country. He graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2009 with a degree in Building Construction.
Aaron is an avid music fan and regularly attends concerts as well as Atlanta sporting events. He is a season ticket holder for Atlanta United and Georgia Tech football, and currently lives in Buckhead with his dog, Diego.
Virginia joined the Pollack Shores team in 2015 and is the Construction Manager for the Carolinas region. Her previous projects include overseeing construction of Home at The Battery Atlanta as well as many other projects in metro Atlanta and Florida. She is primarily responsible for the execution of development projects from conceptualization through construction and sale.
Virginia earned a Bachelor of Science in environmental engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. She participates in the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Young Leaders Program, including the ULI Youth Mentorship Program. In her time outside of work, Virginia enjoys playing tennis, traveling, and designing and building personal projects.
James Winston is the Construction Manager for Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. He joined the Pollack Shores development team in 2013 to manage new development projects across the Southeast. In his role, James directs and manages the various facets of the design and construction process.
Before joining the firm, he worked on the construction and development of more than $300 million worth of multifamily, retail and educational facilities, and managed numerous rehabilitation and renovation projects for a variety of development companies. James has overseen construction totaling more than two million square feet of residential development, and more than 50,000 square feet of retail, office and commercial projects.
James earned his master’s degree in real estate development from Auburn University and holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Morehouse College. He is a member of Urban Land Institute and a Certified Commercial Investment Member, and has also served as a board member for the Atlanta Urban League for Young Professionals. James enjoys sports, cycling, traveling and spending time with family.
Service Director of Quality Assurance and Transition
Mike is the Quality Assurance Manager for Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. Mike’s number one priority is ensuring each new development project meets the mark for Pollack Shores’ high quality standards.
Mike has been instrumental in the completion of a number of projects including Marisol at Viera in Florida, The Local on 14th, Millworks and Home at the Battery in Atlanta and The Gossett on Church in Nashville. Mike works closely with the construction team as the project nears the unit delivery stage. He creates punch lists for the general contractor to complete and facilitates the relationship between the incoming onsite management team and the general contractor.
Mike currently lives in Kennesaw with his wife and stepdaughter.
Mateo Ricciardulli joined Pollack Shores as a Development Analyst in 2018. In this role, he is responsible for underwriting potential developments and assisting the development team with land closings and project sales.
Originally from Argentina, Mateo grew up in New Jersey and Alpharetta, Georgia. He graduated with honors from The University of Georgia in 2018 with degrees in Economics and International Business. In his free time, Mateo enjoys exploring new cities, seeing live music, and playing tennis and basketball.
Austin is a Development Associate at Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. He focuses on the development of new garden-style and mid-rise projects in the Central Florida region. Austin is responsible for supporting all aspects of each project and is heavily involved from initial underwriting through disposition. This includes project design, financing, obtaining municipal approvals, managing project budgets and schedules, construction execution and lease-up.
Since joining Pollack Shores in 2015, Austin has worked on numerous multifamily projects across the Southeast. His notable projects include Havana Square, M South, The Princeton at College Park, The Adeline and The Iris at Northpointe.
Austin earned a Bachelor of Science in Financial Management from Clemson University with a concentration in Real Estate.
Charles is a Development Associate at Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. He focuses on new garden-style and mid-rise multifamily projects in Atlanta and the surrounding suburbs. Charles is responsible for supporting land acquisition and overall development and execution for each project. This includes project design, obtaining municipal approvals, managing project costs and schedules, construction and delivery and lease-up of completed projects.
Since arriving at Pollack Shores in June 2018, Charles has worked on several projects, including a high-profile land acquisition along the future Southeast Trail of the Atlanta Beltline. The project generated a wide variety of media coverage, and will become the first major multifamily development in its neighborhood. Charles has also worked on several suburban deals including Acworth, Holly Springs, Cumming and Woodstock.
Charles holds an industrial engineering degree from Georgia Tech and an MBA from Emory University.
Ellen Proctor is a Development Associate at Pollack Shores. Since joining the firm, Ellen has focused on mixed-use market driven developments in metro Atlanta. Ellen manages many multifaceted projects and oversees architectural design, construction contracts and municipal relations. Her role also includes underwriting new deals, real estate transactions, obtaining municipal approvals, managing project budgets, schedules, construction and lease-ups.
Prior to joining Pollack Shores, Ellen worked as a consultant focusing on construction and development. She has a wide range of experience in contract negotiation, project management, and dispute resolution. Ellen graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in architecture.
Jeremy works in the Acquisitions group as an Investment Manager for Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. His responsibilities include underwriting, due diligence, project financing, asset management, and disposition.
Prior to joining Pollack Shores, Jeremy was an underwriting analyst and assisted in the underwriting and closing of over $250 million in FHA insured loans for both affordable and market-rate multifamily properties. Jeremy’s career in real estate began as a real property appraiser in metro Atlanta.
Jeremy graduated with honors from the University of West Georgia with a BBA in finance and management. He earned his Master of Science in Real Estate with honors from Georgia State University. Jeremy enjoys cheering on Atlanta sports teams, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Vice President of Acquisitions
Brendan Whalen is Vice President of Acquisitions at Pollack Shores Real Estate Group, and oversees the company’s acquisition activities throughout the Southeast and Southwest. His responsibilities include identifying, underwriting and packaging potential acquisitions for presentation to the firm’s investment partners. He works closely with Pollack Shores’ partners, lenders, attorneys, internal accounting and management teams to drive projects from inception to sale. Since joining Pollack Shores in 2012, Brendan has acquired or recapitalized more than $1 billion in multifamily and mixed-use assets.
Brendan previously worked at a real estate investment firm, where he was part of a team that oversaw the asset management of over 17,000 multifamily units in 20 cities across the United States. Brendan is a member of the National Multi-Housing Council and presides on the University of Florida Real Estate Advisory Board. He earned a master’s degree with a concentration in real estate and finance from the University of Florida. Brendan graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a bachelor’s degree in finance where he was a member of the men’s varsity swimming team. He lives in Brookhaven, Georgia with his wife, Francesca, and son, Finn.
Jay is an Acquisitions Associate at Pollack Shores. His responsibilities include underwriting and financial analysis of property acquisition opportunities.
Prior to joining Pollack Shores, Jay worked as an assistant project manager in Washington, D.C. for four years. While there, he oversaw the contract for an office building and multifamily project totaling over $100 million. Jay also coordinated planning and development schedules for projects valued in excess of $600 million.
Jay graduated with a degree in civil engineering from George Washington University and was a member of the varsity baseball team. Jay relocated to Atlanta to earn his MBA from Emory University, where he was a member of the Real Estate Club and Private Equity Board. In his free time, Jay enjoys playing golf and squash, cheering on Atlanta sports teams and spending time with family and friends.
KAREN PRINCE, CPA
Director of Accounting
Karen Prince is the Director of Accounting for Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. She is responsible for all aspects of accounting for the acquisition, development and management of the firm’s multifamily properties and joint venture entities, as well as overseeing the firm’s treasury management function.
With more than 10 years of real estate experience, Karen manages a team of 20 accomplished accounting professionals, including 9 CPAs. Her team is responsible for the full cycle accounting of over 100 managed properties, including monthly financial statement preparation, calculation of investor distributions, investor and lender reporting, construction draw preparation and accounts payable processing. Her expertise in Yardi, OneSite, Entrata and MRI allows her to meet the unique accounting and reporting needs of each client. She also serves as liaison for both external audit and tax professionals in the preparation of GAAP-basis and tax-basis audited financial statements and tax returns to meet the financial and statutory reporting requirements for the firm’s joint venture partners.
While overseeing the firm’s treasury management function, Karen works with over a dozen banking institutions to help safeguard the $30 million of deposits under management, by adding treasury services such as check positive pay, ACH management, wire and account transfer services, and purchase card services.
Prior to joining Pollack Shores in 2010, Karen began her career with one of the Big Four international accounting firms, and later managed the accounting for Atlantic Station, a massive mixed-use development in Atlanta, on behalf of a global real estate investment company.
Karen graduated with high honors from The University of Georgia Honors Program with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant. A native Atlantan, Karen currently resides in Johns Creek with her husband, Greg, and two children, Ryan and Kelsey.
Robin Cunningham is the Corporate Controller at Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. Robin assists in overseeing the corporate accounting and financial aspects of the company. Her responsibilities include accounting, tax, financial reporting, financial planning and human resource activities. Robin also serves as a liaison for external audit and tax professionals in the preparation of tax-basis audited financial statements and returns.
Robin has more than 16 years of experience as an accountant, and also has 5 years of corporate controller experience in the hedge fund, private equity and alternative investment industry. Robin began her career as an auditor with a regional accounting firm in Atlanta where she primarily audited financial institutions. Robin graduated in 2002 with honors from Georgia Southern University receiving both a master’s and bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting. She is a licensed CPA in the state of Georgia.
Originally from Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, Robin now lives in Marietta, Georgia with her husband, Martin, their daughter, Kaelyn, and their four animals consisting of two Great Pyrenees dogs and two senior cats. Robin enjoys traveling, playing soccer, hiking and cooking in her free time.
Jen Max is a Controller for Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. With more than nine years of real estate experience, Jen oversees a team of accounting managers and property accountants, and is responsible for the establishment of position binders for each role, mentoring new team members and assisting with property transitions.
Prior to joining Pollack Shores in 2015, Jen worked for a professional services firm, where she provided accounting and auditing services for a variety of clients in the real estate industry.
Jen graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in accounting and a master of accountancy degree with a specialization in audit. She is also a Certified Public Accountant.
Jen currently resides in Alpharetta, GA with her husband, Alex, and two children, Hunter and Hailey.
Krista is the Assistant Controller of Development for Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. She leads a team that handles the full cycle accounting for all development and multiple third-party management projects. Her responsibilities include monthly financial reporting, distribution calculations, lender compliance reporting, annual financial audits, tax returns and support for land acquisitions and project dispositions.
Krista joined Pollack Shores in 2015 with eight years of experience in accounting, assurance and tax in various industries, including construction.
Krista graduated with a bachelor’s in science in accounting from King’s College and earned a master’s of accountancy from Auburn University. She is a certified public accountant and a member of the AICPA and FICPA. Krista enjoys the outdoors, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Steven Seidband is an Accounting Supervisor for Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. Steven is responsible for supervising a team of Property Accountants and overseeing the accounting for a portfolio of multifamily communities, including the detailed review of monthly financial statements and the coordination of quarterly and annual financial reporting to ensure equity partner and lender compliance. Prior to joining Pollack Shores in 2017, Steven began his career with one of the big four accounting firms in Atlanta, providing accounting and auditing services.
Steven graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor’s of business administration in accounting and a master’s of accountancy. Steven is also a Certified Public Accountant and currently resides in Atlanta.
Corporate Accounting Manager
Nora Richards is the Corporate Accounting Manager for Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. She is responsible for managing the accounting for Matrix Residential and Pollack Shores along with other financial reporting duties.
Nora oversees the day-to-day, month-end and year-end close activities related to all corporate accounting. She also implements consistent and efficient processes to improve business operations. Nora joined Pollack Shores in 2014 as a Development Accountant, and quickly learned the complexities of real estate development while building a knowledge base of the firm’s portfolio.
Nora is an Atlanta native and graduated from Georgia Tech in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting. In her free time, Nora enjoys horseback riding, baking and playing board games with friends and family. She lives in Sandy Springs with her husband, Stephen, and dog, Addie.
Stephanie Sosebee is the Accounting Manager for Matrix Residential, the property management division of Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. With more than seven years of real estate experience, Stephanie manages a team of two Senior Property Accountants and one Accounting Associate. Stephanie is responsible for the review of monthly accounting work papers and financial statements, and oversees the preparation of year-end audits, tax reports and monthly distributions.
Stephanie graduated from the University of North Georgia with a bachelor’s of business administration in accounting. Stephanie currently resides in Atlanta and loves being the assistant varsity basketball coach at Pace Academy.
LaKia West is the Accounting Manager for Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. With more than 5 years of real estate experience, LaKia manages a team of two staff Accountants. LaKia is responsible for the review of monthly accounting work papers/financial statements, assists with accounts payable, works on accounting resources and tools, and owner requests.
LaKia graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting. LaKia currently resides in Powder Springs with her two daughters, Kyla and Kaylin.
Darsey Moritz is an Accounting Manager for Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. With more than four years of real estate experience, Darsey manages a team of three accounting professionals. Her team is responsible for the accountingof many Pollack owned and Matrix managed properties across the South, including monthly financial statement preparation, calculation of investor distributions, investor and lender monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting, construction draws and accounts payable processing. She also serves as the liaison for both external audit and tax professionals in the preparation of GAAP-basis and tax-basis audited financial statements and tax returns for her clients.
Prior to joining Pollack Shores in 2014, Darsey began her career with a national accounting firm where she worked on audits of multifamily properties and filings with Housing Urban Development (HUD). She is an active Certified Public Accountant, and graduated with honors from Kennesaw State University with a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting.
She currently resides in Huntsville, AL with her husband, Josh, and son, Cooper.
Senior Development Accountant
Shelley is a Senior Development Accountant for Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. She is responsible for the accounting and monthly financial reporting of projects under development. Shelley works closely with the development and construction managers to prepare monthly construction draws for lenders and equity partners.
Shelley serves as the liaison for stabilized properties, and works with the individual community directors to prepare monthly financial reporting packages for the property owners.
Shelley obtained a bachelor’s of science in accounting from Berry College and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a master’s of accounting from Mercer University. Shelley resides in Brookhaven with her husband Patrick.
Senior Development Accountant
Brian Ragan is a Senior Development Accountant for Pollack Shores Real Estate Group, and is responsible for the accounting and monthly financial reporting of projects under development. Brian works closely with the development and construction managers to prepare monthly construction draws for the firm’s lenders and equity partners. He also serves as the liaison for stabilized properties, working with the individual community directors to ensure an accurate reflection of financials. Brian also prepares monthly reporting packages for the property owners, and has experience working in Yardi, Onesite and Entrata.
Brian has a Bachelor of Business degree from the University of Georgia and a Master of Professional Accounting from Georgia State University. Brian also holds a CPA designation and is a member of the AICPA.
Brian currently resides in the Candler Park area of Atlanta. He enjoys exploring all that the city has to offer.
Senior Corporate Accountant
Luke Waller is a Senior Corporate Accountant at Pollack Shores Real Estate Group, and assists the Corporate Controller with all accounting aspects of the corporate and investment entities. He oversees the company’s day to day general ledger and maintains relationships with company vendors.
Before joining Pollack Shores in 2016, Luke spent two years in public accounting in Suwanee, Georgia where he concentrated in audit and tax.
Luke holds a master’s and bachelor’s degree in accounting from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, Georgia. He currently lives in Atlanta and enjoys going to concerts, camping and supporting the Georgia Bulldogs.
Senior Property Accountant
Ryan Ashley is a Senior Property Accountant at Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. He is responsible for the month end financial statements, preparation of monthly distributions to owners, and various other accounting and reconciliation functions for multifamily properties across the Southeast and California. Ryan works with the community directors and regional managers to ensure the monthly financial statements are accurate.
Before Ryan joined Pollack Shores in 2019, Ryan started his career in public accounting as an auditor and worked in the industry for over 3 years. He oversaw financial statement audits for clients in various industries such as healthcare, insurance, and manufacturing. In addition, he also oversaw several audits related to lease accounting and reporting. Ryan graduated from Georgia College & State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in accounting and a Master’s in Accountancy degree. Ryan is also a Certified Public Accountant.
Ryan currently resides in Atlanta and enjoys tennis, traveling, and exploring the city.
Senior Property Accountant
David is a Senior Property Accountant at Pollack Shores Real Estate Group, and works on a portfolio consisting of both owned properties and third party management agreements. In this role, he is responsible for the preparation of monthly accounting work papers, account reconciliations and financial statements. David also performs banking functions for the properties and prepares reports to be provided to the owners.
Prior to joining Pollack Shores, David spent over four years in public accounting as an auditor. He oversaw financial statement audits for clients in the real estate and manufacturing sectors, along with the audits of employee benefit plans.
David earned his bachelor’s in accounting from Georgia Southern University and his master’s in accounting from Kennesaw State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and proud Texas native. David currently resides in Marietta with his wife, Annie, and two dogs. David and Annie welcomed their first son, Knox, in August 2018.
Senior Property Accountant
Kathelin is a Senior Property Accountant at Pollack Shores. She oversees the daily, monthly and annual accounting for properties in the firm’s portfolio. Her role includes producing monthly financial reports for management and partners, preparing monthly draws for lenders and finalizing year-end audit and tax workpapers. Kathelin is also responsible for ensuring that all financial statements are accurate, including balance sheets, income statements, statements of cash flows and statements of capital expenditures.
Kathelin joined Pollack Shores in October 2018 after relocating from New York. She previously worked in the public accounting sector, and has experience with audit and tax preparation as well as preparing financial statements for companies in various industries.
Kathelin has a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Dowling College. She is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) and is in pursuit of her certification in the state of Georgia. Kathelin lives in Atlanta and enjoys playing volleyball, traveling and discovering new restaurants to indulge in different cuisines.
Senior Property Accountant
Lisa Jones is a Senior Property Accountant for Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. She is responsible for the accounting portfolio of multi-family properties, monthly preparation of financial reports and equity partner distributions. Lisa also works directly with the community directors and regional managers to ensure financial statements are accurate and in compliance with ownership guidelines.
Lisa joined Matrix Residential in 2013, and brings more than 15 years of experience in residential property management and hotel property management throughout the Southeast.
Lisa is a graduate of Southern University in her native city of New Orleans, where she received her bachelor’s degree in accounting. She currently resides in Lithonia with her husband, Stanley and their two sons, Carey and Stanley Jr.

Morgan is a Senior Property Accountant at Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. Prior to joining the Pollack Shores team in August 2018, Morgan worked at a public accounting firm for three years.
Morgan graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2014. After graduating, she attended Mercer University in 2015 and obtained her master’s degree in accounting.

Prior to joining Pollack Shores in 2017, Josh began his career in Birmingham, Alabama as an asset management accountant in charge of the accounting for capital assets for outpatient surgery centers across the country. Josh graduated from the University of Alabama with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in accounting and a master’s in accountancy degree. Josh has also completed his certified public accountant exams and will seek certification in the Fall 2018.
Josh currently resides in Atlanta with his dog.
Senior Property Accountant
Greg Salisbury is a Senior Property Accountant for Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. In his role, Greg is responsible for the accounting and reporting functions of all third-party multifamily assets, which includes the production of monthly financial statements and associated owner reporting packages. Prior to joining Pollack Shores, Greg worked for a multifamily developer and property management company in Oakland, California.
Greg graduated from Kennesaw State University with a bachelor’s of business administration in accounting in 2012. Greg resides in Marietta, and is an active outdoor enthusiast who loves camping, hiking and being on the lake.
Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis
Brent is the Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis at Pollack Shores. Prior to joining the team in October 2018, he was an associate at a commercial real estate advisory group where he did primary servicing and asset management of the debt book for two private equity firms located in New York City and worked on underwriting agency loans.
Brent graduated from Wake Forest University with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and economics. He began his career in the commercial real estate industry in Washington, D.C. as a research associate, where he focused on researching sales comps and multifamily market analysis in the Southeast.
Corporate Staff Accountant
Rona is a Corporate Staff Accountant at Pollack Shores Real Estate Group, where she helps prepare month-end reporting, AP and AR, P&L analysis and accounting reconciliations. Rona assists the Corporate Accounting Manager and Senior Corporate Accountant with all accounting aspects of the corporate entities. Her primary emphasis is on accurate and timely reporting for the operating entity.
Prior to joining Pollack Shores, Rona worked as a property accountant and prepared monthly financial statements for a variety of projects. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Georgia State University in December 2018. Originally from China, Rona has been living in the United States since 2010.
John Bowling joined Pollack Shores in December 2017 as a Property Accountant. He is responsible for accounting duties over a large portfolio of apartment communities.
John is a graduate of Athens State University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor’s of science in accounting. He lives in Marietta with his wife, Sonja, and their two cats, Smoke and Buddy.
Aileen Echols is an AP Associate for Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. With more than 30 years of accounts payable experience, Aileen is responsible for processing the billing statements of more than two dozen properties.
Prior to joining Pollack Shores in 2018, Aileen began her career with the Board of Education in New York, where she provided full bookkeeping services for the organization. Aileen has also overseen auction sales for collectable stamps for a nonprofit education institution. Her familiarity with sales and her diligent work ethic make her a great asset to the Pollack Shores team.
Aileen is a twin and currently resides in Alpharetta with her daughter, Hananiah.
Kristy is an AP Associate for Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. With more than 10 years of accounts payable experience, she processes the billing statements for more than two dozen properties.
Kristy assists with training new AP employees and is the project leader and trainer for the 2019 AP 1099 project. Kristy was also recently selected to be a mentor for the Matrix Residential 2019 Leadership Committee. Her confidence, customer service skills and diligent work ethic make Kristy a great asset to the Pollack Shores team.
Prior to joining Pollack Shores in 2017, Kristy began her career in logistics and accounting at a firm where she maintained a portfolio with more than 50 military bases around the world. Kristy is also a certified nursing assistant and a registered emergency medical technician in the state of Georgia.
Kristy is a Georgia native and currently resides in Mableton with her husband, Joe, and their two children, Leila and Joseph.
Tiffany is an Accounts Payable Associate. She contributes to the Pollack Shores Real Estate Group and Matrix Residential teams with more than 15 years of real estate, property management and government accounts payable, receivable and payroll experience.
Tiffany is responsible for all payables for more than 30 properties. She is detail-oriented, self-motivated, humorous, dependable and an effective team member who consistently delivers results. These attributes as well as her expertise in Yardi Systems ensures that payables are precise and timely.
Tiffany is a native of Charleston, South Carolina. She loves helping others, cooking, reading, UNC basketball, Alabama football and the Los Angeles Lakers. Tiffany attended Trident Technical College. She has one daughter, ALaysia, who is a senior at Tennessee State University.
Aimee Voulgaris has worked with Pollack Shores for four years. She works in the Accounting Department as an AP Associate where she manages the payables for the development arm of Pollack Shores Real Estate Group.
Aimee attended the University of Delaware where she earned her B.A. in criminal justice.
She lives in West Midtown with her husband, Mike and three dogs. She enjoys spending time with her two stepchildren, traveling and reading.
Director, Asset Management
Andrew Wittgen is responsible for all aspects of asset management operations at Pollack Shores. In his role, he oversees asset performance, develops business strategy, directs due diligence for transactions and leads in the disposition of assets. For the last eight years, Andrew has lead the construction management team in the successful execution of more than $65 million in exterior and interior renovations for properties in the firm’s portfolio
Andrew’s diverse background includes over 25 years of experience with on-site management, property operations, construction management, acquisitions and dispositions management. In his time at Pollack Shores, Andrew closed on the acquisition and disposition of over 9,000 units with a total capitalization of $1.3 billion. Andrew joined Pollack Shores in 2010 after serving as vice president of operations in the for-sale housing division for a property management company specializing in condominium conversions and management. In his first year at Pollack Shores Andrew successfully launched Pollack Shores’ property management subsidiary, Matrix Residential, and transitioned several assets from third party to in-house management.
Andrew is an active member of National Multi-Housing Council (NMHC), the Atlanta Apartment Association and the National Apartment Association, from which he earned his CAPS designation. He is a board member for Lassiter lacrosse and enjoys coaching all youth sports. A double major graduate of Indiana University, Andrew lives in Marietta with his wife, Kris, and children John, Joe and Mallory.
Vice President, Asset Management
Alex Geeslin joined the Pollack Shores acquisitions team in 2013. She manages the acquisitions process from initial underwriting through execution of the business plan post-closing. Her responsibilities include underwriting, due diligence, asset management and asset disposition of the firm’s multifamily acquisitions.
Before joining Pollack Shores, Alex served in various roles as an analyst and asset manager for acquisitions and development firms. Her experience includes overseeing the underwriting, due diligence and project management of single family, multifamily and mixed-use projects across the Southeast.
Alex graduated Summa Cum Laude with honors from The University of Georgia. She resides in Brookhaven with her husband, Trey, and their two dogs.
Vice President, Asset Management
Sarah joined Pollack Shores as Vice President of Asset Management in 2019 bringing with her over 15 years’ experience in real estate finance, deal structuring, and asset management. In her role, she manages equity and debt relationships and oversees the operations and asset health associated with a portfolio of properties.
Sarah’s diverse work experience includes serving as Investment Manager for a multi-family owner/operator and managing affordable housing financing. Sarah holds an MBA from the University of Florida where her business concentrations were Real Estate and Finance. Prior to attending graduate school, Sarah worked as an Architect in Indianapolis, Indiana. Her undergraduate degree is from Ball State University.
She resides in Milton, Georgia with husband, Bryan, two daughters, Tori and Anna, and dog, Maizee.
Tequila Zell is the Project Manager for Asset Management and has played an instrumental role in the firm’s rapid growth. Tequila oversees the design and construction aspects of all acquired rehab projects. She administers the renovation design from site planning through construction documents, and also helps manage permitting, construction pricing, construction schedules and budgets and the turnover of completed projects.
Prior to joining the Pollack Shores team, Tequila worked as an on-site community director for the firm’s in-house management company, Matrix Residential. Her previous experience includes a specialized focus on renovation projects and condominium conversions.
Tequila graduated Cum Laude from The University of Georgia. She resides in Berkeley Lake and enjoys spending time with her three sons and husband.
Asset Management Associate
Matt Schoemann is part of Pollack Shores’ Asset Management team. His responsibilities include property analysis, due diligence, and financial reporting as well as helping with day-to-day asset management duties.
Prior to joining Pollack Shores, Matt worked for The American Home Real Estate Investment Trust, a real estate investor & property management company. It was at The American Home that he assisted with the sale of the entire 2,500 property portfolio. Matt’s responsibilities included handling of all property tax matters, reviewing HUD documents for home purchases, & daily accounting duties.
Matt graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. Matt currently lives in Atlanta where he enjoys golf, fishing, cooking, traveling, & hanging with his dog, Gavin.
As a Construction Manager for Pollack Shores Real Estate Group, Mike oversees all aspects of value-add construction, renovation and capital projects. He joined Pollack Shores in 2013 with more than 35 years of experience in construction, design-build and commercial development.
Mike has managed projects for multiple large firms prior to working at Pollack Shores. He owned his own construction company for 18 years and was involved in $1 billion of multifamily, commercial and industrial projects.
He received his education in civil engineering from Old Dominion University in Virginia and is a licensed property maintenance and housing inspector. Based in Atlanta, Mike enjoys spending time with his family, music, fishing and college football.
Assistant Project Manager
Ellen Warring is an Assistant Project Manager at Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. Ellen uses her strong work ethic and attention to detail to assist the firm’s acquisitions division, and helps oversee unit and amenity renovations for multiple properties throughout the Southeast. Her responsibilities include processing renovation invoices, compiling monthly draw requests, record-keeping in relation to all work completed, vendor bid collection and subsequent selection and other wide-ranging tasks.
Prior to her position at Pollack Shores, Ellen worked as a marketing representative and assistant manager for the firm’s in-house property management company, Matrix Residential.
Ellen earned her bachelor’s of science in business administration from Portland State University and lived in Orlando, Portland, Austin and Jacksonville before settling near family in Atlanta in 2017. Ellen enjoys renovating old homes, adopting old dogs and volunteering as a horseback trail guide every Sunday.
TRACY H. BOWERS
Managing Director | President, Matrix Residential
Tracy is the Managing Director for Matrix Residential, the property management division of Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. She is responsible for the overall operations of the company, and also focuses on strategy and client relations.
Tracy joined Pollack Shores in 2011 with more than 20 years of multifamily experience. During her career, Tracy managed over 50,000 units across the Southeast and Southwest United States. She has successfully leased-up more than 90 new developments, and has orchestrated and executed strategic plans for 65 value-add projects. Tracy has extensive experience in the Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, South Florida, Tampa, Jacksonville, Orlando, Ft. Myers, Austin, Richmond, Nashville, Raleigh/Durham and Charlotte markets. She also works closely with the development teams and is highly involved with the architectural and design processes.
Tracy earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Georgia and a Master of Science in Management/Organizational Behavior from Georgia State University. She also earned an interior design degree from The Art Institute of Atlanta. Tracy is a Certified Property Manager through the Institute of Real Estate Management and a member of the National Apartment Association, Georgia Apartment Association and Atlanta Apartment Association. She serves on the board of the Atlanta Apartment Association and is currently President-elect. Tracy resides in Roswell with her husband, Johnny, and two children, Natalie and Annie.
Senior Director, Matrix Residential
Karen Key is the Senior Director for Matrix Residential, the property management division of Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. In this role, Karen is responsible for supporting the Managing Director in overseeing the operations of the management division and maintaining client relations.
Karen joined Matrix Residential in 2014 with over 15 years of management experience with nine specialized in multi-family. This experience encompasses the direct management of up to 3,500 units simultaneously which included lease-ups, new developments, and value-add renovations. She has extensive knowledge in the Atlanta, Mid-Atlantic, and Florida markets.
Prior to joining Matrix Residential, Karen was a Regional Manager for ZRS Management responsible for the Atlanta and Mid-Atlantic markets. While with ZRS, Karen worked closely with developers of new construction deals. During this time, ZRS Management was first introduced to the Mid-Atlantic market and grew by 500% in the first 18 months. In addition, Karen was previously a Regional Manager for Greystar Management in the Atlanta market and oversaw a large percentage of the Greystar Investment Group owned assets.
Karen earned her Bachelors of Science in Hospitality Administration with an emphasis is Business Management from Georgia Southern University. Karen is a Certified Property Manager through the Institute of Real Estate Management. In addition, she is a member of the National Apartment Association as well as the Atlanta Apartment Association. Karen currently resides in Newnan with her two children, Camden and Abigail.
Senior Director, Matrix Residential
Kristyn Monticup is a Senior Director for Matrix Residential, the property management division for Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. In this role, Kristyn oversees operations for assets in Florida, North and South Carolina and parts of Georgia. In addition to the oversight of assets, Kristyn also oversees the Regional Maintenance team as well as Ancillary Services.
Kristyn joined Pollack Shores Real Estate Group in 2018 with over 20 years’ experience which most recently includes a Director of Real Estate role at Greystar and a President role for TriBridge Residential. Her experience includes the lease-up of new developments, the execution of value-add strategies and capital projects for both owned and fee-managed assets.
Kristyn attended the University at Buffalo in NY where she double majored in Communication and Psychology. She is passionate about giving back and was actively involved with philanthropy through her sorority. She is currently involved in the local apartment associations and was an integral part of the start-up of the Georgia Apartment Industry Education Foundation. Kristyn earned her Leadership Lyceum designation in 2016 through the Atlanta Apartment Association. Kristyn currently resides in Roswell, GA with her three children.
Senior Director, Matrix Residential
Kellie is a Senior Director for Matrix Residential, the property management division of Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. She oversees operations for assets in Georgia, the Carolinas, Tennessee, and Florida.
Kellie has more than 30 years of experience in residential property management. She brings a wealth of knowledge leading garden, high rise and midrise properties of all classes, and has a strong background in new construction, renovations, due diligence and stabilized property operations. Kellie has achieved consistent success in increasing revenues to levels that surpass corporate and investment goals, and has utilized her expertise and leadership skills to develop top-caliber associates that are dedicated to the clients and communities they serve.
Kellie has completed more than 40 lease-ups over the course of her career, which also included oversight of marketing and HR, interior and exterior designs, acquisitions and proforma reviews. She also has considerable experience in coordinating with high-profile, multi-million-dollar investors.
Kellie started a management company for an investor that she successfully operated for several years, and has held a range of corporate roles throughout the Southeast. Kellie holds a Florida State Real Estate License and is an active member of the National Apartment Association (NAA), Atlanta Apartment Association (AAA), Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC) and Georgia Apartment Industry Education Foundation (GAIEF).
Kellie lives in Atlanta with her daughter. She enjoys horseback riding and traveling.
Patrick Burke, CAPS
Director, Matrix Residential
Patrick Burke is the Director of Property Management for Matrix Residential, the property management division of Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. Patrick is responsible for underwriting and budget management, portfolio management, asset operations and maintaining strong client relationships.
Patrick joined Matrix Residential in 2010 and has more than 15 years of experience in multifamily real estate. He excels in identifying areas of opportunity for operational and financial improvement across the Matrix portfolio, and implements new technologies, procedures and tools to improve efficiency and productivity. Patrick successfully cultivates and develops vendor relationships in order to ensure best pricing and service while managing the company’s national partnership agreements. He has created value on new construction, stabilized and value-add projects for private owners as well as institutional investors. On both the acquisition and disposition side, Patrick has participated in dozens of transactions throughout his career.
A graduate of Florida State University with a degree in English Literature, Patrick also holds his CAM (Certified Apartment Manager) and his CAPS (Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor) designations from the National Apartment Association. He is active in the Atlanta Apartment Association and Georgia Apartment Association, serving on the Vic Maslia Golf Classic Committee and Technology Task Force. Patrick is a huge fan of live music, golf, skiing and college football. He lives in Atlanta with his wife, Kristin, and their children, Charlie and Emily.
Director, Matrix Residential
Shannon Hayden is a Director of Property Management for Matrix Residential, the property management division of Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. She is responsible for the oversight of apartment communities in Georgia, Florida, South Carolina and Tennessee.
Shannon has more than 20 years of experience in the property management industry. Prior to joining Matrix as a Regional Director in 2017, she was the Director of Property Management for a multifamily firm and was responsible for overseeing communities in four states. Over the course of her career she has managed and supervised numerous Class A lease-ups along with traditional, student, military and full renovation communities. Shannon also has considerable experience in assisting with property sales, due diligence and management transitions. She has managed operations for properties located in Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Texas and Arizona.
Shannon studied accounting during her time at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee. She has won numerous awards during her career, including Leasing Person of the Year, Newcomer of The Year and Property Manager of the Year. Shannon was also a panel participant at the 2015 National Apartment Associations yearly meeting in Las Vegas.
Shannon currently resides in Marietta, Georgia with her husband Bert, and daughter, Alexanndra. Her son Brandon attends Stetson University in Florida. Shannon enjoys spending time with her family, camping, impromptu road trips, and reading novels. She is also a huge foodie.
Director – Southwest, Matrix Residential
Bobbie Norris is the Director of Real Estate in the Southwest for Matrix Residential, the property management division for Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. In this role, Bobbie is responsible for establishing the Matrix Residential presence in the Southwest, growing business and overseeing operations of all owned and third-party assets.
With more than 16 years of experience in the multifamily industry, Bobbie previously worked with Camden Property Trust and Greystar in various markets including Asheville, Charlotte and Raleigh, NC; Orlando, FL; and Greenville, SC. Bobbie joined Matrix in the spring of 2016 as the Regional Director for North Carolina and South Carolina. Her task of growing business and expanding the region quickly took off with the opening of four new developments in Charlotte and Raleigh. She was also a valued asset during the sales transactions of three communities within a 60-day period including two in Charlotte and one in Greenville for Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. Daily Bobbie works with clients to introduce them to all markets and Matrix Residential including small private owners such as Whitaker Capital, as well as larger institutional clients such as Artemis Real Estate Partners, Heitman, JPMorgan Chase, AEW Capital and Edge Financial, to grow their portfolios and businesses.
Bobbie graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Public Relations and English Technical Writing. She has been an active member of the Upper State, Greater Orlando and Greater Charlotte apartment associations, serving on the Board of Directors and several committees. In addition, she holds a Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor designation (CAPS). Bobbie volunteers with Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte, the Wounded Warrior Project of the Carolinas and the SPCA of Charlotte. Bobbie was born and raised in Charlotte and currently resides in Dallas, TX.
Director of Business Development, Matrix Residential
Janine Hanley is the Director of Business Development for Matrix Residential, the property management division of Pollack Shores Real Estate Group. Janine is responsible for identifying and growing the third-party assets for Matrix Residential. Her primary focus is finding exceptional clients and creating long-lasting partnerships. Her role also includes management agreements, takeover planning and staffing the onsite teams, and developing a rapport with new and existing clients. She serves as chief advisor to the Managing Director, where she works to place new employees in their proper roles.
Janine joined Matrix Residential in 2012. With more than 17 years of experience in the multifamily industry, her knowledge includes onsite sales and leasing for new developments, extensive corporate reporting, vendor and resident relations, and executing upper-level management retreats.
Prior to joining Matrix Residential, Janine was a Management Coordinator with a property management company. She was responsible for operational reporting for a portfolio of more than 40 properties across the city of Atlanta.
Janine began her career in the multifamily industry while attending Georgia State University. Beginning in sales, Janine shined at several new developments while working with a real estate company. After graduating, she expanded her career by working at the company’s corporate office as a Regional Operations Manager. Janine’s involvement included financial reporting, Regional Director support, resident-specific matters and assisting with due diligence on new developments.
Janine is an active member of the Atlanta Apartment Association. She has served on the Georgia Apartment Association PAC committee raising money for the Georgia Better Government Fund (GBGF) since 2012. Janine is a committee member for the Atlanta Apartment Association Food-A-Thon and Star Awards annual event.

Senior Director of Marketing, Matrix Residential
Dana G. Pate is the Senior Director of Marketing for Matrix Residential, the property management division of Pollack Shores Real Estate. In this role, Dana is responsible for the overall creation and implementation of marketing strategies, execution of company initiatives, building of relationships with advertising partners, and providing training and support to team members. She is also intimately involved in public relations efforts for both Matrix and Pollack Shores Real Estate Group which has led to national recognition by IREM, NMHC, The Atlanta Journal Constitution and others.
Dana joined Matrix Residential in 2012. Her experience includes student and conventional housing across the Southeast, Florida and Texas markets with an emphasis on SEO/SEM, brand management and social media. Dana’s creative approach to multifamily marketing has earned her speaking opportunities at the National Apartment Association Education Conference, NMHC OpTech, Apartment Internet Marketing Conference, InterFace Multifamily Southeast, and Georgia Apartment Association Annual Meeting.
Dana graduated Cum Laude from Georgia State University with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Marketing and Certificate of Hospitality. She resides in Grayson, GA with her husband, Kevin, and daughter, Emerson.
As the Marketing Director of Pollack Shores Real Estate Group, Michelle oversees all marketing efforts for Florida and the Southwest markets.
She brings more than 17 years of marketing and property management experience to her role. Prior to joining Pollack Shores, Michelle was responsible for the implementation of marketing strategies for 13,000 units that spanned 45 properties in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Texas.
Michelle is a volunteer with the South East Florida Apartment Association and is an active member of the education committee. She also spoke at the 2018 International Builder Show. Outside of work, Michelle enjoys doing yoga and spending time with her husband and son.
